Turkey 2018
Something I immediately noticed about Turkey was the amount of cats that were roaming the streets. Just outside of our first hotel there were about 20 cats just sitting there waiting for love (and food). As we went on I saw more and more dogs, birds, rabbits, donkeys, camels...you name it, I probably saw it during my time in Turkey.
The dogs in particular really broke my heart, these babies were struggling. They were all malnourished and looked as though they had quite a few illnesses. Every dog I came across was so loving and just wanted to be loved. As a dog lover this was devastating to see. One moment in particular will stay with me for the rest of my life, we were walking to the underground city in Cappadocia when we noticed a puppy cowering underneath a table. When we encouraged the puppy out to give him some love we were shocked to see just how skinny he was. When we came out of the underground city we searched for him again to feed him but we couldn't find him anywhere.
