The balanced teacher
As I move toward the end of my time at TPA I've begun to feel nostalgic and anxious. I read an article in Women's health the other day that said that even when we made a change for the good of our well being our mind still attacks us for it. The body doesn't like change at first, even when it's for the good of the soul.
Moving to the West Midlands is a big step for me, I have my family there, sure, but I also know no one. I have no friendship base, my friends will now be 3 hours drive away and not my family. It's also a time when I begin to realise that the Debt Free Journey is one that must happen.
This past week has left me realising just how bad I am with money and just how much I need an Emergency Fund. I woke up on Monday morning to a flat tyre that I couldn't get fixed until Thursday night when the money from my parents hit my account. Today I took my car to the garage to get the tyres pumped up and lo and behold, there's another slow puncture in my other tyre now. I have no money to get it fixed and pay day is not until Friday.
This week also marks my 28th year on this earth and whilst I can be super hard on myself because I'm still single with no kids, no house and no money I can also step back and recognise all of the good I've done. I moved to a new country, started my career, and learnt to make new friends but also to accept my own company.
The official count down to the move is on, in 22 days I'll be packing up my Essex life and beginning again. This time I'll have my own flat and a new set of responsibilities. This is a time for reinvention and renewal. I'm going to find who I am now, not who I was before. I'm going to hustle hard, become debt free and balance my life. I will become the balanced teacher.
Have you ever been on a debt free journey or moved your life and all you've ever known? Leave me some advice below!
